Mikoto Misaka (A Certain Magical Index) takes umbrage at the appearance of Makoto Kino (Sailor Jupiter) at the beach.

Another commission from one of my favorite regulars at Wizard World Chicago this year. I didn't know the characters well enough to 100% get the joke -- something about "talent" referring to Sailor Jupiter's more curvy figure or somesuch. It was fun to draw in any case, though!

In the Sailor Moon English dubbing, there was a scene in which the girls were arguing over who would get the role of Snow White in a play. Mako-chan's reasoning, as she thrust her chest into the viewer's face, was that she had more "talent". In the subtitled version, this clearly referred to her breast size. The sort-of inside joke for "Moonies" has been comedy fodder in fanart and fanfiction for years.

That and both characters signature attacks are lightning based but whereas Sailor Jupiter needs to "Transform" to use her powers Misaka can use her electric powers whenever she pleases. Ergo the raw power talent resides in Misaka's hands even if Jupiter has more "talent" than her

It also works in that Makoto was given power, while Mikoto had to work at becoming as powerful as she is.
